Charles Jerningham writes: ‘Here are Yarmouth Sands assuming a very sporting character - whether in contemplation of races or a Steeple Chase does not seem quite apparent. The flags flying, the assembled company, the taper column and distant shipping combine to form a pleasant maritime diorama.’
