Plans for the Old Museum were drawn up by Karl Friedrich Schinkel for Frederick William III of Prussia and the Museum opened on 3rd August 1830. This lithograph by Winckelmann & Sohne of Berlin on paper watermarked ‘J. Whatman’ was posted from Berlin to Munich in 1832.
