HA 74 - Pen and ink sketch of the Pincian Mount by Hamon de Bellers 1830

Sketch on a letter posted to Lady Charlotte Lindsay from Verona in 1830. He describes the statue as “like a drunken Britannia of colossal size. The Obelisk you will see is surrounded with water and steps and four lionesses vomit water at the angles. In the centre of the piece a large shell with water is surmounted by a statue of Roma.. sphinxes of marble sit on poor brick walls.
