Added in ms at top ‘May such enemies to their King & Country always meet the same Fate!’ and to the right side: ‘It is fully mov’d that the Oath they took which was prescrib’d by Lee was the Defeender’s Oath in Ireland from where he came expressly for the purpose of this Hellish Plot to burn the Barracks here, let loose the French prisoners & murder all who oppos’d them. Our escape was providential’. There is only one other copy recorded in the ESTC at The British Library.
