Manuscript letter with hand-coloured view printed by Elwall addressed to Geo W. Carleton, Lowell, Mass, USA by his father from Florence on 31st May 1851. “Our banker says we must direct all our letters to baring Brothers & Co. London and ask them to forward them to America.” Carried on the Cunard vessel “Europa” and charged 19 cents on delivery.
