Manuscript letter with printed view of Lubeck by A. Schutt published by Gl. Burchers from W. Kenmore to his father, a cloth merchant in the Lawn Market, Edinburgh, carried by sea via Cuxhaven and Hull. By the Postal Convetion of 1841 the Free City of Lubeck, the third remaining member of the Hanseatic League by 1840, was allowed the same 6d rate of postage as Hamburg provided that letters were sent through that city.
