Printed invoice with ms insertions from Matthew Hornsey with superb engraved heading of pack horse in classical frame. The Old Pack Horse became so known in 1778 when the original Pack Horse moved and reverted to the Pack Horse some time after 1783 when its rival vanishes from the records. ** (creased & frail at edges)

Description

Three ms invoices with printed headings incorporating City arms from Mrs J. Pickersgill (1882), Mary Pickersgill (1891) and W.L. Loadman (1902). The hotel was built in 1829 by the Corporation for those attending the Cattle Market and by 1902 could sleep 45 and much impressed the Chief Constable. ***
