Description

Printed invoice with ms insertions and view of exterior at head printed for George Brumfitt on blue paper – the “Rockingham” to Bradford and the “Defiance” to Leeds had both run from this inn ** (minor discolouration and one corner trimmed)

429. PLUME OF FEATHERS INN, POCKLINGTON (1838) 8” x 4”.

Description

Printed invoice with Prince of Wales’s feathers in elaborate frame engraved at head for Francis Fallowfield. This was also the Excise Office and the whole of the reverse is made out in ms for the hire of horses. Fallowfield was the landlord in the 1820s which may explain the old style of this invoice. *** (small nick in corner)
